Loring Miller of Melville received the 2011 Good Deed Award from the Boy Scouts of America's Matinecock District for his leadership and dedication to the group. Miller, ex-cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 457 in Dix Hills, is a partner at Loring E. Miller Insurance in Mineola, chairman and president of Nassau and Suffolk County Police Reserves, executive vice president and rewards chairman of Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County, and a board member of the New York Law Enforcement Foundation.
