Louise Skolnik of Rockville Centre has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Social Workers' New York State Chapter based on her efforts demonstrating "exceptional professional qualities." Skolnik is the former director of human services for Nassau County and has worked as a professor and associate dean at Adelphi University's School of Social Work. She is also former president of Nassau County's Coalition Against Domestic Violence and is an adjunct professor and research associate at Fordham and Hofstra universities, respectively.
