Lynda Perdomo-Ayala of Port Jefferson Station recently received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service from the State University of New York. Perdomo-Ayala has been the department administrator in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences in Stony Brook University's School of Medicine since 1992 and is adviser to the university's Latin American Student Organization. She is also a vice chair for the Suffolk County Human Rights Commission, a member of the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk's Resource Council, and a member of the Suffolk County Women's Advisory Commission.
