Maddy Leibowitz of Holtsville recently received the Joseph M. Margiotta Distinguished Service Award from Hofstra University in recognition of her "extraordinary dedication, generosity and service" to the university's athletics programs. Leibowitz is vice president for business development at North Babylon-based Atlantic Agency Insurance & Taxes and has held numerous leadership positions within the university's alumni organization. She is also involved with nonprofits including Island Harvest, Contractors for Kids, and Little Flower Children & Family Services of New York.
