Maureen Rossi of Kings Park has been named the 2013 Suffolk County Woman of Distinction by the Suffolk County Legislature for her dedication and service to the community. Rossi, a part-time employee at Balance Health & Wellness Center in Kings Park, has engaged in numerous volunteer activities ranging from participating in local Parent-Teacher Associations to serving as a den mother for her children's scout troops. She is also credited with establishing the Parent Resource Center in Kings Park and Kings Park in the kNOw, an organization committed to helping youth avoid destructive decisions.
