Nancy Mazzola of Commack recently received The Gilbert Tilles Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Long Island Chapter for her "ethical, innovative and dynamic professionalism." She is president of the Marcie Mazzola Foundation, created following the loss of her stepdaughter in an automobile accident in 2002; it supports nonprofits working to help abused, at-risk and underserved children. Foundation fundraisers have benefited the Huntington YMCA, Pal-O-Mine Equestrian in Islandia, and the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk County, among other organizations.
