Neil Sterrer of Long Beach has received the 2011 Realtor Spirit Award from the Long Island Board of Realtors based on his efforts to bring echocardiogram screening events to the Long Beach School District. Sterrer is owner of Sterrer Realty in Long Beach and has worked closely with the East Meadow-based Jason F. Gruen Research Foundation, which benefits children with heart ailments. He has also been director of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, co-chair of the Long Beach/Island Park Brokers Council and a trustee of the Long Beach Historical Society.
