Nick Brigandi of Hicksville was named Citizen of the Year by the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce for his "character and outstanding level of dedication." Brigandi, the chamber's secretary, is chairman of the Hicksville Water District and a member of the American Water Works Association, Long Island Water Conference, and the Nassau-Suffolk Water Commissioners Association. He also has held various positions with the Hicksville Fire Department and is a member of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York.
