Patricia McMahon of Babylon recently received the 2012 Navy League of the U.S. Fleet Adm. Chester W. Nimitz Award based on her "significant contributions" to maritime strength and national security. McMahon, who began her career three decades ago with the Defense Logistics Agency, is sector vice president and general manager of military aircraft systems for Northrop Grumman Corp.'s aerospace systems sector. She is the first woman to receive the award since its creation in 1981.
