Patty Carrotta of Glen Cove has received the Community Spirit Award from Glen Cove-based nonprofit La Fuerza Unida based on her "long-lasting dedication" to the organization and the overall community. Carrotta is the Glen Cove branch manager for Astoria Federal Savings, which she joined as a teller in 1977. She is also a volunteer at St. Rocco's Church in Glen Cove and a board member of the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce, as well as a supporter of local community events such as the Glen Cove Mansion Holiday Boutique and Glen Cove Street Fair.
