Peter Cacioppo of Smithtown has received the 2013 Employee of Distinction Award from LeadingAge New York for demonstrating "high standards of excellence" in providing direct care to New York's elderly and chronically disabled. Cacioppo is a physical therapist and has been director of rehabilitation service at North Shore-LIJ Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation in Manhasset since 1996. He was nominated for the award by his colleagues and has been with the North Shore-LIJ Health System for more than 30 years.
