Peter Cerreta of Westbury was recently honored by The Bristal, an assisted living facility in Westbury, and Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, an elder-law and estate planning firm in Melville, in recognition of his contributions during World War II and participation in the facility's activities. Cerreta was drafted while studying at New York University, from which he later graduated with a degree in aeronautics, and learned to fly the C-46, which was the largest and heaviest twin-engine aircraft to see service with the U.S. Army Air Forces. He also worked at NASA testing rocket designs for the Apollo space program.
