Phil Costa of Garden City has been chosen as the 2013 recipient of the Nassau County Bar Association's Peter T. Affatato Court Employee of the Year award in recognition of his efforts "encouraging the highest ethics and ideals of the legal community," the organization said. Costa, who has served the Unified Court System for 30 years, is a court clerk specialist and supervises the main clerk's office in Nassau County Supreme Court. He began his career as a court officer in the Queens Family and Supreme courts and also has served as the point person for the development of Nassau's Case Management System.
