Rita Molloy of Medford has received the 2012 Mariel C. Furlong Making a Difference in the Food Allergy Community Award in the category of School Nurse from the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network based on her "tireless efforts" on behalf of the food allergy community in the areas of awareness, education and advocacy. Molloy is a nurse at Mary G. Clarkson Elementary School in Bay Shore. She is also an anaphylaxis/asthma educator for the nurse orientation program of the New York State Association of School Nurses and the New York State Education Department.
