Robert A. Scott of Garden City was recently named Long Island Person of the Year at the 2012 Person of the Year Awards Dinner of ASIS International, an organization previously known as the American Society for Industrial Security. Scott is president of Adelphi University in Garden City and before that served as president of Ramapo College of New Jersey from 1985-2000. He is also a former member and chair of the American Council on Education's Commission on International Education, a member of the International Association of University Presidents, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, among other organizations.
