Rudolf Mikkleson of Manorville was recently honored with an Excellence in Technology and Design Award from the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas based on his "outstanding achievement" demonstrated at a regional festival in the field of theater design. Mikkleson, a magician and student at Suffolk County Community College's Ammerman Campus in Selden, was awarded a one-week master class in the field of moving lights at the institute. He plans to attend a four-year institution to pursue a bachelor's degree with a focus on lighting design and theater.
