Samuel Kim of East Northport has been awarded a $17,000 scholarship from Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area based on his academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Kim, a recent graduate of Northport High School, was the school's Class of 2011 salutatorian and class president for all four years of high school. He was also one of 250 finalists in the prestigious annual scholarship contest of the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and is currently attending Yale University with plans to major in economics.
