Shannon Kelly of Lynbrook recently received the Science Teachers Association of New York State's Fellows New Teacher Conference Award, which is issued to a second- through fifth-year teacher who has never attended the association's fall conference in Rochester. Kelly is a science teacher at Malverne High School and before that taught science for three years at Oceanside High School. She is also a member of the National Science Teachers Association, a volunteer for local Girl Scouts troops, and a member of the various PTAs in Lynbrook and Malverne schools.
