Stephen Gaughran of Seaford has received the 2012 New York State Outstanding Library Trustee Award from the Library Trustees Association of New York State based on his many years of service to the field. Gaughran is a trustee of Seaford Public Library and has served as director of management information for Nassau County, as a professor of mathematics and computer processing at Nassau Community College, and as an adjunct professor in Hofstra University's School of Business. He has also volunteered with St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and the United Cerebral Palsy Association.
