Steven J. Walerstein of Deer Park was recently honored by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin of Queens and Long Island based on his efforts promoting a partnership between the association and the American College of Physicians. Walerstein, a medical director at East Meadow-based NuHealth System, is the college's governor and president of its New York chapter. He previously served as chair of medicine at Nassau University Medical Center and associate medical director at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn.
