Susan Contino of Syosset has received the Jane Skrzypek Volunteer & Leadership Award from the Syosset Council of Parent-Teacher Associations in recognition of her leadership qualities and volunteerism that goes "above and beyond the scope of the PTA." Contino has been involved with the Syosset PTAs since 1996 and has served as treasurer and president of the A.P. Willits Elementary School PTA, H.B. Thompson Middle School PTA and the Syosset Council of PTAs. She is also parliamentarian for the Syosset Council and assistant director of the Nassau Region PTA.
