Susan H. Alvy, of Westbury, recently received the Hy Zausner Lifetime Achievement award from the U.S. Tennis Association's Long Island Region in recognition of her "lifetime of achievement" both on and off the tennis court on Long Island. Alvy was manager of Rockville Racquet Club in Rockville Centre for 20 years until her retirement in 2012. Under her leadership, Rockville Racquet Club received the association's Special Community Service Award for opening its doors to the community for hot showers, cellphone charging and Wi-Fi access in the aftermath of superstorm Sandy.
