Terry Fontana of Hicksville recently received the Vitas Gerulaitis for the Love of Tennis award from the U.S. Tennis Association's Long Island Region for demonstrating a "love of the game through volunteering, supporting tennis programs, and helping grow tennis throughout Long Island," the organization said. Fontana coaches at Hicksville Community Tennis Association, which offers lessons at schools and parks throughout Hicksville. She is also a longtime volunteer with the association's Long Island Regional Board, for which she coordinates events including Kids' Rally Days.
