Thomas Neuschul of Glen Cove has been named 2013 New York State Social Work Student of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers for his commitment to the social work profession and academic study. Neuschul is a second-year student in the Masters of Social Work program at LIU Post in Brookville and an intern at Long Island GLBT Services Network, where he provides counseling to individuals and helps implement various outreach activities. He previously interned at Nassau County Child Protective Services and the Nassau County Coalition Against Child Abuse.
