Vaughan Spilsbury of Huntington was honored last month in conjunction with Volunteer Appreciation Month by the Huntington-based nonprofit Family Service League based on her "faithful service to the organization." Spilsbury has served on the league's board of directors for more than 45 years and has held positions including president, vice president and secretary. She also has worked on its fundraising committee and has played a role in numerous league fundraisers such as its Great Chefs of Long Island and its annual House Tour.
