Winner: Walter Poggi

Walter Poggi, of Nesconset, recently received the Harold Wheeler Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his "notable contributions" to environmental testing and Long Island, the organization said. Poggi is president and CEO of Retlif Testing Laboratories in Ronkonkoma and has served at the company's helm for the past 35 years. He has previously served as president of the American Council of Independent Laboratories and was instrumental in the National Institute for Standards and Technology's development of the first EMC laboratory accreditation program.
