William J. Lindsay of Holbrook will be honored this week at the sixth annual Party to Protect Children fundraiser coordinated by the Hempstead-based nonprofit Education & Assistance Corp. in recognition of his dedication to helping Long Island's at-risk children. Lindsay (D-Holbrook) has been presiding officer of the Suffolk County Legislature since 2006 and is legislator of the county's 8th District. Before joining the legislature he was a construction electrician and went on to become business manager for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 25.
