Xina NairSeniors advocate

Xina Nair of St. James has been named Suffolk County's Senior of the Year based on her efforts logging more than 1,000 volunteer hours for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Suffolk (RSVP) since 2008. As a volunteer, Nair visits isolated seniors in the community for tea and conversation and calls them at home to check on their well-being. She also frequently speaks at local libraries and senior centers on topics such as decluttering homes, caregiving resources and medication management.
