Andrea Majer of Port Washington received the 2010 Safety Excellence Award from Lancer Insurance Co. in Long Beach for demonstrating a commitment to safety for customers. Majer is executive vice president of Delux Transportation Services in Port Washington and is a board member of Project Independence, a Town of North Hempstead initiative providing transportation for senior citizens. She also is credited with introducing natural gas taxis to Delux.
