Barbara Gibbons of Greenlawn was named 2010 Nurse of Excellence by St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown for "deep-rooted understanding of the responsibility that accompanies the title of registered professional nurse." She is the center's director of education and research and an assistant professor at Suffolk County Community College and Stony Brook University. She is also a member of the New York and Long Island nurse practitioner associations and Nassau Suffolk Hospital Association.
