Chunyan Li receives $1.3M research award

Chunyan Li of Hempstead has received a $1.3 million research award from the U.S. Department of Defense to develop a novel field resuscitation technology through trigeminal nerve stimulation that is designed to help extend the survival time for injured soldiers. Li is an assistant professor and director of the neuromonitoring laboratory at Northwell Health’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, which she first joined as a research scientist. Her research is part of the work the institute is conducting in the emerging field of bioelectronic medicine.
