Donna Strommer of Island Park has received the Superintendent's Outstanding Appreciation Recognition (SOAR) Award from Island Park Public Schools based on her "exceptional work ethic, performance and commitment to excellence." Strommer is the district's food service coordinator and is responsible for interviewing and training food service personnel, placing purchase orders and overseeing equipment maintenance and replacement. She began as a part-time school monitor.
