Eileen Gerard of East Patchogue received the Founders' Spirit Award from the state Association of Health Care Providers (HCP) for contributions to the health care industry. She's director of human resources and regional manager of South Shore Home Health Services in Oakdale and has served on the board of directors for HCP's Long Island chapter for eight years. She's also acting chair of its Community Health Care Services Foundation and organized the chapter's "Caregiver of the Year" event for the past 10 years.
