Andrew Labiner of Commack was the winner last month of a DJ Hero fundraiser competition coordinated by EJtheDJ, a music and video production company in Ronkonkoma. Andrew, 12, performed a three-minute session to the song of his choice as part of a DJ clinic fundraiser to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Long Island Chapter. He said he was eager to participate in honor of a cousin who suffers from the disorder.
