Sonia Murdock of Islandia has been inducted into the Suffolk County Women's Hall of Fame for her efforts to help families with perinatal mood disorders. She is co-founder and executive director of the West Islip-based Postpartum Resource Center for New York, a nonprofit providing support to depressed mothers. Murdock also is past president of Postpartum Support International and a member of task forces for the Suffolk Perinatal Coalition and Nassau County Perinatal Services Network.
