received an Outstanding Service Award from the New York State Art Teachers Association for her contributions and career achievements. Brodersen has spent 46 years as an art teacher in the North Bellmore school district and is a member of the North Bellmore Teacher's Association. She also created a 75th anniversary logo for Jones Beach lifeguards in 2004 and has mentored

her students in various art-related

fundraisers.
