Lori Adler
of Merrick has received the Superintendent's Outstanding Appreciation Recognition Award from Island Park public schools for her work ethic, performance and commitment to excellence. Adler is a sixth-grade English language arts teacher at Lincoln Orens Middle School and began her career in 1972 as a substitute teacher at Francis X. Hegarty Elementary School, both in Island Park. She is also adviser to the middle school's literary club.
