Joani Madarash of Smithtown received the Dr. Alfred H. Schwartz and Iris Nelson-Schwartz Humanitarian Award from the National Rehabilitation Association's Metropolitan NY Chapter for "educating the business community about the needs of disabled persons." Madarash is president of accessLinx and co-president of Suffolk County Rehabilitation Council. She's on the board of the School Business Partnerships of Long Island and the New York State Association for Persons in Supported Employment.
