Julie Fitzgerald

of Westbury has received the 2010 Kathleen Anne Lyons Memorial Excellence in Teaching Award from the Long Island Language Teachersfor her "outstanding and dedicated teaching of world languages." Fitzgerald has taught Spanish and French in the Carle Place School District for 16 years, and also taught French at the University of Wisconsin. She has been involved with the American Association of Teachers of French, American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese and the state Association

of Foreign Language Teachers.
