Marty Schneider of Deer Park is one

of three winners

of the 2010 President's CARES Award from Farmingdale State College for his job performance and service to the college community. Schneider has been a motor equipment repairman at the college since 1981, and before that worked as a machinist mate on a Navy destroyer. He is also an active supporter of the Nature Conservancy, Amnesty International and the American Civil Liberties Union.
