Michael Dowling of Northport will

be honored at the

Building Green Gala hosted by the U.S. Green Building Council's Long Island Chapter for his leadership in developing efficient building standards at his facilities. Dowling is president and chief executive of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, which has 14 hospitals in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Staten Island, and is chairman of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership. He previously served as deputy secretary to Gov. Mario Cuomo.
