Thomas C. Teufel of Bayport recently received the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award from Long Island Islip MacArthur Airport for his leadership qualities and dedication to duty. Teufel has served as a Suffolk County police officer for 15 years and also served five years in the Army, where he was a staff sergeant and crew chief for a Black Hawk helicopter squadron. He returned in June from a yearlong tour of duty in Iraq.
