I went with a group of friends from Massapequa. I was working for a small data-entry company in Amityville and I made sure I had off on Friday. I was really happy. I wanted to see Janis Joplin; she was really big. All the girls could relate to her.

We had to park the car because you could not go any farther and walk. I called home to tell my mother we had made it and she told me they had closed the Thruway.

I remember seeing Janis Joplin, Hendrix, and Grace Slick saying, "Good morning, people!" I was pretty up close when she came on. I remember the rain and the mud, the place we got food. We went because of the groups and when we got up there it was a huge party. I would do it all over again.

There were no fights. The music was great. You could never do it again.

I went upstate last year to Bethel to see the anniversary concert. It sure looks different. The museum is great; it is a great tribute to all the people who came. It brings back a better day. Peace and love always.
