INWOOD / 4 sought in electronics theft at freight firm
Burglars early Saturday stole $30,000 in electronics from a freight company in Inwood near Kennedy Airport, Nassau police said.
Four suspects pried open a back door of the company, Expeditors International of Washington, between 3 and 4 a.m. and loaded a white or silver van with computers and electronics, police said.
An employee interrupted the burglary when he noticed the door ajar, he said.
Police have no suspects. Detectives asked that anyone with information call 800-244-TIPS.

ELMONT / Burglarized Belmont Park employee program saved
An educational program at Belmont Park that was forced to close nearly six weeks ago -- after a robber made off with its computers -- is reopening Monday.
Ten laptops were among items stolen Memorial Day from the Backstretch Education Fund building in Elmont.
The Apple Store at Roosevelt Field recently helped the program rebound, giving it a deal on new computers, program founder Lisa Ford said Saturday.
The program teaches English, literacy and horse-tending skills to many of Belmont Park's employees and provides a computer lab for them to access email and Skype, Ford said.
No one has been arrested.
