LIRR adds extra trains for Memorial Day weekend

The Long Island Rail Road will add extra trains Friday for those getting an early start on their Memorial Day weekend.
The LIRR will run 10 additional early afternoon trains out of Penn Station beginning shortly before 2 p.m. The trains include 1 each on the Ronkonkoma, Port Washington and far Rockaway branches, three on the Port Jefferson branch, four on the Babylon branch, and three on the Montauk branch, including the “Cannonball” express train to the Hamptons departing Penn Station at 4:06.
The LIRR will operate on a regular weekend schedule on Saturday and Sunday and on a holiday schedule on Monday, Memorial Day. For more information, customers can visit mta.info/lirr.
