LIRR president Helena Williams said there would be limited service on all branches with the exception of the storm-ravaged Long Beach line, east of Speonk on the Montauk branch and east of Ronkonkoma.
"We do expect severe overcrowding and are asking all customers to cooperate with travel times and select off peak travel times," Williams said. "Show courtesy to fellow riders and take care on the platforms because they will be crowded."
Service is constrained because two of the four tunnels the LIRR shares with Amtrak and New Jersey Transit remain damaged from the storm.
Riders will be charged off-peak fares until full service is restored. An October monthly pass will be honored Monday. November passes take effect on Tuesday.
