A broken track rail that had delayed and canceled some LIRR trains Monday morning has been repaired, the rail road said.

The rail was repaired as of 1:07 p.m., said LIRR spokeswoman Meredith Daniels, with expectations for a normal evening commute.

In all, 20 Monday morning peak trains were delayed as a result of a broken rail west of the Woodside station, the LIRR said.

The commuter service had said at about 6:15 a.m. that the rail issue could cause delays and cancellations; at about 9 a.m., spokesman Aaron Donovan said crews had been at the scene and were making repairs.
