The Long Island Rail Road reported delays averaging 20 minutes during the Monday morning rush on the Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches.

Service was on or close to schedule shortly before 10 a.m., the railroad said.

The railroad said the delays had been caused by a piece of broken track equipment near Merillon Avenue in Garden City.
