LIRR: Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma trains mostly on time after delays

The Long Island Rail Road said it was operating on or close to schedule during Thursday’s morning commute after a broken crossing gate near the New Hyde Park station earlier caused delays.
At about 8:30 a.m., the commuter service reported delays averaging 10 minutes in both directions on the Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches.
The LIRR said the delays were caused by trains operating at reduced speeds because of the broken gate east of the New Hyde Park station.
The stretch of delays lasted a little more than 40 minutes; the service reported it was close to schedule on its Twitter feed at about 9:30 a.m.
