The Long Island Rail Road was operating on or close to schedule on the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches in time for Thursday’s evening rush after earlier signal trouble near New Hyde Park.

Delays on the Oyster Bay branch had eased by midday and that branch also was on or close to schedule, the railroad said in a Twitter message about 12:15 p.m.

The railroad had sent an electronic alert to riders at 8:40 a.m. about delays on all three branches averaging 20 minutes, and another alert shortly after 10 a.m. saying the delays were averaging 10 minutes.
